All About BFKS 2012

Bowl for Kids' Sake is the largest and most important annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio.

More than 2,000 members of our community and 100 companies and organizations support this grassroots fundraising event each year.

Our goal this year is to raise $450,000 for the thousands of children we serve in central Ohio annually.

Teams of five bowlers compete to raise the most money and celebrate their efforts on Saturday, March 3, 2012 during ONE HOUR of bowling fun at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace!

It's an exciting day full of live entertainment, local celebrities, raffle drawings, special prizes, and delicious refreshments!

Registration Basics

Ready to get started?

There are many ways you can become involved with BFKS
and help Big Brothers Big Sisters!

Become a Company Coordinator

• Help BFKS recruit Team Captains from your workplace.
• Enjoy special incentives just for Company Coordinators.
• You can also start your own team!
• Call BFKS contact Lori Brown at 614-839-2447 ext. 121 for more details.

Start a Bowling Team

• Register as a Team Captain at our BFKS Teams Website or using our Mail & Fax Form.
• Recruit bowlers to join your team and have them register online or by mail/fax.

Join a Team

• Once your Team Captain has registered, you can join the team!
• Use your team name to register on our BFKS Teams Website or using our Mail & Fax Form.

Join as a "Virtual" Bowler

• Can't make it to the event? You can still join in the fun by registering as a "Virtual" Bowler on our BFKS Teams Website or using our Mail & Fax Form.

Or just make a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters

• Make an online donation through our BFKS Teams Website. Click on "General BFKS Donation" in the left navigation bar to make a donation.
• Mail a check to Big Brother Big Sisters.

Next Steps: Managing your BFKS Donations

Once you're registered, you can start raising money as a Team Bowler or an Individual Bowler.  

• Set up a personalized, secure donation page on our BFKS Teams Website and/or use our Donor Form to collect donations.
• Collect donations from everyone you know!
• Each Team Bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $150.
• Donations made to BFKS are 100% tax deductible.

Online Registration

Raise money with the click of a button by registering online.

It only takes a few minutes to set up a secure donation page
at our BFKS Teams Website!

Step 1:

• Visit Bowl-Big.org and click "REGISTER TODAY" in the main menu.

Step 2:

• Once you've reached the BFKS Teams Website, click "REGISTER HERE".

Step 3:

• If you want to be a Team Captain and start your own team, click "START A BOWLING TEAM".
• Be sure to create a team name!
• If you are starting a team for your company, choose your company name from the pulldown menu.

Step 4:

• If you want to join a team, click "JOIN A TEAM".
• To join a team, you will need to know the name of the team you want to join.
• You also can join as a "Virtual" Bowler by clicking "JOIN AS AN INDIVIDUAL".

Step 5:

• Now you're ready to set up your personalized, secure online fundraising headquarters by following the prompts or clicking "EDIT MY SITE" under "BOWLER'S PERSONAL ONLINE HQ" at the bottom of the page.
• You can email your family, friends and co-workers a donation link to your personal BFKS Fundraising HQ Page by clicking "EMAIL" at the top of the page.

Quick Tips

• Encourage your team members to register online with your team name.
• Participate in some friendly competition to see which of your team members can raise the most money.
• You can check your team's progress by logging on with your user name and password.
• Donors who donate via credit card will immediately receive a thank you and tax receipt via email

Simply fill out BFKS Registration Form clearly and completely,
and send it on its way!

2012 Donor Form

In addition to collecting your donations through our
online BFKS Teams Website, you can also download
our 2012 Donor Form to get started right away!

Step 1:

• Download our 2012 Donor Form pdf.

Step 2:

• Fill out the top of your Donor Form completely.
• Be sure to include your company and team name so they will receive credit for your donations.

Step 3:

• Record your secured donations using your Donor Form.
• When collecting donations by check, please make sure your name is written in the "memo" line to be properly credited.
• Please do not record individual donations secured online on your Donor Form.

Step 4:

• You can send your donations to Big Brother Big Sister prior to the event! You will receive credit for these donations on the event day.
• Or you can turn in your Donor Form, matching gift form and collection envelope with additional gifts at the Donation Station on the event day.

Quick Tips

• Keep a copy of your Donor Form for your records.
• Make additional copies of the blank Donor Form as needed.
• Please do not record individual donations secured online on your Donor Form.
